A whole season has gone by since our last correspondence. It seems like another
lifetime ago. Before our update, we want to wish the loved ones of the victims
of the Sept. 11 tragedy a speedy road to recovery and new-found joys. We’ve
been devastated by the events of late and hope everyone is focused on love, family,
friends and kindness. After a lot tears and worrying, Brett and I finally put
on Zeppelin III one night. It momentarily catapulted us back to a time of innocence,
when rock and roll had healing and freeing powers. Music has been a crutch for
us. We hope you’re able to find something that soothes you.
ELLIS has been a quiet storm
for the last year, recording every musical idea that comes to us. Finally, we’re
ready to reveal some of our latest work. E-III, our third CD, is scheduled for
release in December of this year. It’s taken us 2 years to complete this
collection of songs. It is by far our best. The song writing reaches a new level
on E-III and we went farther into the production than ever before to make sure
this album feels and sounds absolutely killer.
Foghat fans will love our
tribute to Lonesome Dave with “Couldn’t Make Her Stay” from their
second album. Glenn Hughes fans will love the epic duet “Growing Wise”
(be sure to check out the sound sample on our merchandise page). Jeff Beck fans
will love our version of “Superstition.” ELLIS fans will love our originals,
“Slide,” “Looking for Love,” “Empty Pockets,” “Use
Me” and so many more.
We’re planning some
show dates to kick off E-III. We’ll announce details as soon as we can. In
addition, we’ll be accepting advance orders on E-III by the end of October
so that the CD may ship to you right off the press. Keep you posted on both those
things.

and the song “Big Sky,” co-writtten by Brett Ellis, is getting good
reviews, as is Hughes’ entire album -- Building the Machine.
