I teach the Suzuki violin method to children and adults from beginning level through book 5. I am also trained in jazz and Eastern European fiddle and supplement with this repertoire as desired or needed.

For voice, I teach the Estill voice method and a unique set of practices and techniques I have developed myself that support students in discovering and developing one's authentic voice so that you can feel confident and free expressing yourself with a variety of range and sound.

Hello! My name is Alyssa Becker. I completed my degree in music performance at Keene State College in 2022. I have been teaching for three years, and I strive to bring a young, fresh perspective to those who would like to learn how to play the guitar or learn how to sing.

Voice: During my college years, I studied under many prominent vocal pedagogues such as Dr. Matthew Leese, Dr. Evangelina Leontis, and Dr. Daniel Carberg; I also had the great privilege of completing an extensive vocal pedagogy course at KSC. I recorded my first album of soprano and piano art songs, “Love and Thought,” in October of 2021. As a classically trained soprano, I prioritize learning and teaching foundational vocal techniques, including breath support, phonation, resonance, diction, and the release of tension. Your voice is unique and organic. I can’t wait to help you unlock this special instrument!

Guitar: I have studied classical guitar with Dr. Jose Lezcano and Professor Ted Mann for over six years. In the 2020-2021 academic year, the KSC music faculty selected me for the “Instrumentalist of the Year” award, and I was honored to be the recipient of the Redfern Music Department Scholarship and the Talent Scholarship. I have studied the works of classical composers such as Brouwer, Narvaez, Milan, Sor, Tarrega, Barrios, Piazzolla, Albeniz, Villla-Lobos, and others. I primarily enjoy teaching classical guitar, but I am also available to teach acoustic guitar as well.

Dr. Evangelia Leontis has extensive experience teaching classical voice to singers of all levels, ages, and musical backgrounds. She strives to help students discover the tools they need to communicate with the world through the medium of music and always aims to teach the entire person; mind, body, and soul, by bringing compassion, empathy, and warmth to every interaction with a student. Her instruction is rooted in a thorough knowledge and understanding of vocal pedagogy and voice science that is complimented by a background in yoga and the Alexander Technique. She is also a lover of languages and has a passion for teaching and coaching lyric diction.

Previously, Dr. Leontis served on the voice faculties of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she taught Applied Voice, Song Literature, Lyric Diction, Vocal Methods, and directed the opera, the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and Guilford College. She spent five summers serving on the voice faculty of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artist Vocal Program teaching voice, diction, and yoga for singers, as well as directing opera scenes. Dr. Leontis is a full member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), an organization for which she regularly adjudicates, and the College Music Society.

In 2017 Dr. Leontis traveled to Bali, Indonesia to complete the YogaWorks 200 hour yoga teacher training certification. She is now exploring ways to incorporate yogic concepts of alignment, breath, and philosophy into teaching voice and is offering Yoga For Singers Classes and Workshops. She has presented workshops at the Boston Conservatory, Texas A & M Kingsville, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Keene State College, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the New School of Music, and Greensboro College.

Dr. Leontis teaches privately in the Manchester, VT area and serves on the voice faculties of Keene State College and Castleton University.

Bill Reed is an internationally known singing teacher based in South Burlington, Vermont. Bill has dedicated his professional life to guiding singers in their quest to realize their potential as performing artists. Bill was born into a show business family, the son of Vernon Reed of the Buffalo Bills (the acclaimed barbershop quartet). He began his vocal music education at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. He completed his studies at Columbia University, where he earned a doctorate in vocal music education. After a busy and rewarding career as a college choral director, studio voice teacher and concert singer, Bill established a private voice studio in New York City near Lincoln Center, and began his twenty-five year career as singing teacher at the renowned Circle in the Square Theatre School. For over 30, he was privileged to work with singers from all over the world, whose specialties ranged from opera to pop and rock, and Broadway to folk and country. He has consulted on a number of Hollywood movies and commercial recordings, and his students have performed at the Metropolitan Opera, City Opera, many European opera houses, and in hundreds of Broadway shows and national tours. Bill’s students have won Oscar Hammerstein, MAC, Drama Desk, Emmy and Tony awards.

In Vermont, Bill’s adult students have had leading roles in numerous local community and professional musical theater productions. His college and school-aged students have performed extensively in school productions and have gone on to study singing and musical theater at many of the most prestigious colleges, universities, and conservatories in the country. Many of Bill’s Vermont students are working professionals and have recently performed in leading roles at the New York City Opera and on Broadway. Bill is in demand nationally as a clinician, and has been invited to give workshops at many colleges, universities, and meetings of professional organizations.

Lindsey Warren has enjoyed teaching voice and piano to students of all ages for the past 20 years. She received a M. M. from McGill University in Montreal and a B.M. Degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC, both in Vocal Performance. She has also attended Oberlin Conservatory’s Baroque Performance Institute. Lindsey enjoys singing a variety of styles of music. With regards to teaching, she believes that good technique and musicianship can be applied to any style of music (folk, jazz, classical, Broadway, etc) and her lessons focus on relaxation, breathing, fun and creativity.
