This clarinet is one of Buffet Crampon’s historic models. Created in 1955 by Robert Carree, the R13 clarinet was a big hit in the United States and still meets with unprecedented success. Its tone is focused and rich, and it is powerful in all registers. Its flexibility lends itself to all repertoires: symphonies or chamber music, soloists, teachers, military bands, students or amateurs.
This clarinet has nickel-plated keys.
Mouthpiece not included.
Traditionally Buffet Crampon's instruments are made of African blackwood. This "Green-Line" model uses an exclusive high-tech process that marries 95% wood powder with carbon fibre in a revolutionary new material called Green-Line. The powder is obtained by pulverisation of blackwood pieces. The components are then pressure formed. The process conserves the precious resources, yet permits the creation of top-of-the range instruments in the best Buffet Crampon sound tradition. In fact, the Green Line material has the same acoustic properties as natural wood but with the added benefit of being much more stable in varying temperatures and changing atmospheric conditions. Green-Line material doesn't crack, allowing musicians to focus on their performance.
